Created by muralist Mammxth, A Community of One embodies what it means to belong, connect, and thrive as part of a diverse community. The mural captures both the rich legacy of hisotric Alkali Flats and the intergenerational spirit of unity and progress — symbolized through the portrayal of Goines’ strength, vision, and influence alongside the youthful, forward-looking energy of the next generation.
“Azizza Goines has been a cornerstone of empowerment and inclusion in Sacramento’s business community,” said Dr. Melanie Okoro, Founder and CEO of Eco-Alpha. “This mural honors her unwavering commitment to creating opportunity and celebrates the power of community to inspire meaningful change.”
The mural was commissioned by Melanie and Uzoma Okoro of Eco-Alpha in partnership with Wide Open Walls, Sacramento’s premier public art initiative known for transforming city spaces through large-scale murals and creative collaboration.
This celebration marks another milestone in Sacramento’s ongoing investment in art, culture, and community connection.
